Kate Middleton Pregnant!

So now that it's official and Kate Middleton is with child... We at Foxie decided we couldn't wait another 8-ish months to find out what Kate and Will's baby will look like, so we (and Make Me Babies) took matters into our own hands.

Check them out!

Beauty Review: Napoleon Perdis

Bonjour my lovelies :)
Time for another beauty review! As I've said in recent posts, I had run out of a foundation and wanted to try something different, with more coverage so I didn't have to spend as much time applying my brigade of concealers and powders with my foundation every day.
I'm a bit of a wuss and bought the first thing I went for when I was on the search because it did look good when the MUA put it on, however, when I got home, I found a beautiful shade difference between my neck and face! (sadly,in Australia, we can't return make up) I decided to just suck it up and blend well, it worked. Wearing it lots did break me out and I also found that it got greasy very quickly, maybe because it contains beeswax?

It does give you brilliant coverage, so I think I'd use it as a concealer, however, at $62 for the stick, I won't be repurchasing it, but I will use this as a concealer once my MAC runs out.

I shall have to try out their mineralise foundation, maybe it wont be the same, right?
Any suggestions and recommendations for a foundation? or even one you want me to review?

What do ice bergs and your hair have in common?

Heey :)
So recently I've discovered something... AH.MA.ZING. And it has to do with the cold and your hair.

Now how does an ice berg have anything to do with my hair tip? Not the iceberg, but the freezing cold water it's in.
Next time you're washing your hair, massage your shampoo or conditioner in with warm water, then rinse in water as cold as you can take it.

Sound odd? Here's the science behind it.
Warm water helps your shampoo remove oils and dirt from your hair, making sure your hair is as clean as can be.
Then the cold water seals the gloss and shine in, which is what we want.

So here's my tip. Have your normal, lovely, warm shower, and just as you're about to get out, blast the ice cold water for as long as you can take, making your hair super shiny, and then run out and wrap yourself in the biggest, fluffiest, towel ever!

True Beauty Confession: Gym Make Up

I know it's bad for your skin, but I just cannot go to the gym sans make up!
Since I started going to the gym, I think there's been one day I actually did go without make up, however, that was at about 11am when absolutely no one was in and the gym trainer was an absolute cutie :)

Update: MAC Studio Fix Foundation

Do all you lovelies remember when I reviewed the MAC studio fix fluid foundation and I told you all that it's a tad too dark for me?
Well! Was I wrong! I finished my Body Shop Foundation (click on me to read the review!) on the weekend and was in search for a new foundation. My problem is that I feel bad when MUA's do my make up and then I walk away, as usual, I went to try a foundation and ended up buying it (I'll post a review on that soon!).
Problem, you ask? Why yes my lovelies!.. I didn't realise it had a bucket load of oil in it and completely broke out in one day!
Reluctantly, I started to apply the MAC, knowing it was too dark for me, but, I seem to have tanned!
Back to my point! The foundation fits well now! As I mentioned before, as I had to welcome back a new bout of breakouts, I felt the need to over-conceal. I thought about just applying the foundation first and building coverage first, then adding concealer. After doing the base and adding where I thought I could, I realised the coverage was the same as when I used to apply my body shop foundation, MAC concealer and coloured powder on top AND it lasted longer!
Lesson of the story: MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation is AH-MAY-ZING! :)
I'll give you lovelies a run down of my foundation routine soonish too!
TTYL my lovelies!

Incredibly Easy and DELICIOUS Carrot Cake Recipe

This is an incredibly easy carrot cake recipe, and it's SO yummy!!! I never used to like carrot cake all too much,  but after tasting this one... No words, no words... Maybe I'm just biased, because it's my Mum's recipe, but I think it's amazing.

So for this recipe, there are two parts, the actual cake, and the cream cheese frosting, and I've included instructions for both.

Ingredients:

For the Cake:
1 cup sugar
1 cup oil
2 cups grated carrot
3 eggs
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 & 1/3 cups plain flour
1 & 1/3 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
1 & 1/3 teaspoons baking powder
1 & 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

For the cream cheese frosting:
4 oz Philadelphia Cream Cheese
6 oz icing sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 oz butter

Instructions:

Cake:
Cream sugar and oil, add eggs one at a time and stir in.  Add sifted dry ingredients, then stir in carrots and walnuts.  Bake for 1 hour at 300F. (160C)

Frosting:
Cream all together until light.  Spread over cake, sprinkle with chopped walnuts.

TIP: You don't have to be absolutely perfectionist with this recipe. It's always better if you go a bit heavy on the ingredients :)
TIP 2: The frosting is so good I would just eat it by itself, so if you're anything like me, put it out of reach once you finish making it and are just waiting for the cake to finish baking <3

Let us know how you go!!

True Beauty Confession: I've only ever worn mascara three times!

Okay, so here's a bit of a unique beauty confession from  me.... Most people think this is quite odd. But it's true! In my whole entire life, I've only worn mascara three whole times. Usually by 15 girls wear mascara on a daily basis.

Anyone else have a beauty confession they think is a bit unique?

Take A Peek Inside!

This post is gonna be all things eye liner! Eye liner was the first beauty item I bought that really made me feel like a grown up girl. It was a pitch black eye liner that really packed a punch, it took a bit of getting used to, however, like I said, it made me feel more grown up and I learned how to use it properly after some hit and miss moments!
I would use black eye liner in my inner waterline and for those beauty buffs out there, you'd know that it makes your eyes look smaller, but more defined and piercing.

Now take a look at white eye liner. It opens up the eyes, makes them look less tired, however, because the liner is white, it does appear more obvious than it's nude counterpart. I still like it because it gives you a chic , fresh sixties look without having to pull out the polka dot dress and draw on a winged eye (even though I love me some winged eye!)

Stay Don't Stray!

Ello my lovelies! Have any of you ever done your makeup half heartedly thinking of how it slips, slops and slides everywhere by midday? Sick of looking older because the powder makes you look like you've just been baked like a cake?
I'll be the first to put my hand up and say been there, done that on both counts!
Quick tip to help keep your makeup in tact longer without making you look like you were attacked by a powder puff!
1. After applying your foundation, concealer etc use a flat foundation brush like this one...

You can get this Sigma F60 Foundation Brush by clicking the link :)

2. Using the brush, dip it into a finishing powder or pressed powder of your choice I like Bare Escentuals finishing Powder, it's colourless and gives you a bit of a sparkle... Not Edward Cullen sparkle though, promise!

3. Here's the important part... DO NOT swipe or buff! The reason this is a no no is because if you're buffing, you will swipe away some of the foundation, base and colour off your face as you are causing micro-exfoliation.
Instead, dab and press into al the crevices and around the face.

Hope this little tip helped you lovelies :)

Dance Drying Your Hair

So the other day, I decided to just air dry my hair while rocking out to McFly (ahh... good times, good times...) and it was only after my hair had nearly fully dried that I had a major epiphany moment.

"Dance Drying" as I named it, like, just then, does wonders for adding volume to your hair. Something about dancing around and tossing my damp hair everywhere seemed to have a similar affect to a blow out, and I ended up with these beachy Gisele waves. Which I thought was pretty fab, obviously.

Has anyone else tried this before? What were your results?

Personally, I think I'll be trying this again - I thought it looked good AND I got to have a mini rave party in my bathroom at the same time :)
